Question [Monday, November 17th, 2008 at 8:50pm]

I hope this kind of thing is allowed but I figured you ladies were the best to ask. I need some lingerie for my upcoming wedding. Obviously I am a larger lady so would appreciate advice on somewhere that does bigger lingerie which is beautiful and weddingy. I've heard Bravissimo is pretty good in Leeds? Not sure how true that is. I'm in the North. Any help muchly appreciated. Thanks ladies.

I saw my mum on Saturday, it was splended and I miss her so much. It was the first time my mum and dad have see each other since she left and they both started crying apparently. Sad times.
Seeing mum also meant £100 to spend on clothes because I have none. Conveniently (or not), my jeans ripped in the crotch on the way to see my mum so yeah, I clearly needed new clothes.

It was Kamara's (I don't know i'm on surname terms, his name is Jacob) birthday thing on Saturday, we all went to the pub and suprised him as he thought him and Carla were going for a quiet drink. It was a messy night involving singing "it's raining men" in a pub garden with around 15 gays. It was noisy, but hillarious. Ended up in the Hampshire Boulevard (gay bar again) and contently danced the night away on a stage to a load of cheese. Venga Boys came on (erm..) and I was so drunk I nearly started crying because THAT SONG CAME OUT TEN YEARS AGO AND I FEEL OLD. I texted Johnny on the way home with promises of naughty things and got home, slumped on the sofa and fell asleep! Such a drunken let down, but the tequila was worth it. Another gay bar we went to has free anal condoms and lube and I drunkenly stuffed my pockets with the stuff which were later spilling out and making me appear a bit of an anal loving slut. BUT THEY WERE FREE!

Here are some pictures. Thanks, facebook:

They looked better on Kamara.

I'm going to miss him when he moves to Bristol, but it's true what he says: Portsmouth is full of arseholes that do not appreciate expression. Or gay people, and i'm like, hello? this is the naval city. I can't wait to go and visit him. Luff luff. It's his birthday tomorrow but i'm not at work, so i'm painting him a picture (he loves my drawings) but I can't paint properly at the moment and I think this is going to end a disaster but it's the thought that counts, right?

No trades right now as I'm really trying hard to downsize and save up for my honeymoon! These items are also xposted elsewhere. I remember when I was a kid, bread used to work instead of a rubber and, additives and all, it still does. My floor now resembles a bakery and is in desperate need of hoover loving.

Today's children in need and some people from work are on there because they raised over £4000 apparently. At work today it was fancy dress so I wore ye olde faithful gangster outfit - just over some jeans - and you know that scene in bridgett jones where she goes to the party and she's the only one dressed up? Yep, it's great to be me.

I have a big blank canvas which I want to paint on and halfway through sketching on it I have fucked up and don't have a rubber and want to throw it out of the window.

I need to scan in the drawings I have been doing at work (because clearly I don't work at work) as they are great and I am impressed with myself.

I watched Candy for the first time tonight; it's an Australian indie film staring Heath Ledger from 2006 and it's a film which involves love, heroin and usual trials and tribulations. I saw it in Blockbuster last year and I've always been meaning to watch it because I'm clearly a sadist and enjoy films like that.

Anyway, it's amazing; aesthetically pleasing yet plain with passion. It has three parts; heaven, earth, hell and I think that kind of tells you the sections of the film. It was much like Lost in Translation - it's not a film or a storyline that will deeply grip you but the angles and production were fantastic and that's why I like indie films. They're simplistic, low budget but there is always more. Or maybe I just have really bad taste in films.

Here are some screencaps:

++++ )

There were some people promoting a health spa at work today and I got a free proffesional massage on my lunch break and I fear my spine is now broken. I had to put my head through this thing that resembled a toilet seat so I could breathe and massages usually hurt me and i'm a pussy with pain, but if a camera was pointed at my face through that toilet seat thing it would be hillarious; I would have looked constipated. Not very attractive but luckily no one could see me. I was laughing all the way through it! I don't think I'll be buying one of those massages thanks, although i'm desperate to test out the floatation tank!

I love coming home, absolutely drenched from the rain and getting into some warm, comfortable clothes. I was staring at the windsheild wipers on the bus home and they were going up and down in time to the music on my iPod and after around three minutes of solid staring I was beginning to freak myself out and might have looked a bit weird. In the early hours of this morning I woke up to the sound of the heavy rain beating against the window and I was lying there in silence (bar Johnny's sleep grunts) listening to the tune of the patter in complete darkness. It was lovely, and I haven't felt quite so content in a while.

List, in no particular order.

1. Why did I not know that Simon Amstell was gay? As much as I find him slightly irritating, he is very pretty. I am dissapointed.

2. My mum had her consultation for an eyelift and botox in the arsecrack appearing in her forehead (more commonly known as frown line. She did raise me after all, and that was a constant frownfest) in London and they wont operate on smokers, so she's giving up. It's costing £3800 in total and i'd rather she just, oh I don't know, donate that money to her needy daughter perhaps? Seriously though, it's going to make her happy so I'm happy. I get to see her next weekend which makes me warm inside because since the break up and her great escape to London i've missed her immensely. She's moving back down here with Kenny over the next few months, they're getting a house in Gosport so it means more late night chats in the garden, whilst on Vodka Planet. Vodka Planet is an expression my brothers and myself used to politely describe my mums excessive drinking habits before the break up. "Hey Lauren, Mum's not on Vodka Planet again is she?"

3. I'm waiting eagerly for the new Jimmy Carr stand up to finish downloading so I can run to have a shower, nestle down with a cup of tea, funky fags and some el oh els.

4. I got the new Enya album which is more like Christmas' greatest hits by Songs of Praise, but 100 times better. It's like a soundtrack to some happy victorian christmas film, and it's very festive but for some reason the song "white is in the new winter night" reminds me of fat german men doing a slow motion chicken dance. I know, imagination defies belief.

5. Me and Johnny are fine. This is good.

6. Kamara has had lepoard print dyed onto one side of his head. It looks amazing, and I'm going to take some photo's of him after work one day this week.

7. Grant came around on Friday night after breaking up with his boyfriend of 5 years for good and was in such a worrying state (there's more to the break up, bad things have been happening for a while but it's not my place to say) with razor cuts all up his arm and lifeless eyes. He needed to use my internet to contact some people to stay with up the country as he left his phone and everything behind, and then he left. I've got the strangest feeling that i'm never going to see him again.

Persepolis and Quirkology are officially my favorite books this year. I thought I would just tell you all this, and suggest you read. I need to see the Persepolis film, although I am always sceptical about seeing a film after i've read the book. My imagination is far more intense and colourful than any directors imagery and I often feel dissapointed. The Tudors are my upmost favorite historical era and Hampton Court Palace is probably my most favorite place ever but I decided I must read "the other Boleyn Girl" before watching the film and yes, I was dissapointed. I just think I hate Natalie Portman for being so annoying and Scarlett Johanason for being so beautiful. I love tudor dress, and I love the high collar look on men. Mmf, no firemen for me thanks; I'll have a time machine please.

Tonight is Guy Fawkes night and I was working until 8 which is a shame because I love bonfires and fireworks. I remember five years ago when me and friends were setting fireworks off into dirt mounds at the park, and then at a local lake. We were having fun with around 30 other newly found friends until someone shouted that the police were coming and we all evaporated quicker that Paris Hilton's IQ. It was like a high speed police chase, everyone jumping over discarded tree trunks and I jumped off a garage roof and hurt my ankle. I did feel a bit kung fu though. Fun times. I wanted to go to the top of Portsdown hill tonight and see all the fireworks below but I couldn't which is a shame. There is something so romantic about roasting marshmallows on bonfires and watching fireworks, all cosy in big scarves, coats and gloves. I hope your night is going well and romantic, Camilla!

I'm officially re-addicted to Soho Dolls. I suggest you listen to them, their music is quite seductive.

I'm in talks with a make up artist who was recommended to me by Sharon. You can see her work here and she is amazing, I would love to work with her; I'm just waiting to find out her rates. Hmm, interesting.
